Math Magic

Do you want to know what’s going on in sixth grade math? The sixth grade has been working very hard in Ms. McCann’s class on fractions. We have learned how to change a mixed number into an improper fraction, an improper fraction into a mixed number, adding and subtracting fractions, and a whole lot more! It is kind of easy because Ms. McCann is a nice teacher and she stops and helps you if you need help. We have also been working on it in Mr. Callahan’s class. He is also very nice. The sixth grade does not know when Ms. McCann will give them the unit test, but I think I speak for everyone in 6th grade when I say, we hope it isn’t soon.

I like math a lot. my favorite thing to do in math are brainteasers and puzzles. Last year in fifth grade on mrsmark.com there was a game that you have to use the arrow keys to get in the block in the square hole. I tried to look for it on her website this year, but it wasn’t there. I checked every week, but it was never there I hope the game I’m looking for will be there one day.

I think fractions in math I think there really cool also I like it when we have to match the fraction with a decimal and percent or the other way around because I like challenging myself for the future because if you challenge yourslef at least your trying and then you might be successful.

I love to do math in the classroom. Today we learned how to do opean # senteces. EXAMPLE: 12*n=144. so N is = to 12. Do you get it? The N is a variable. a variable is a number with vairied amounts. SO N can = anything depending on the number sentence.

Sisth grade can be pretty complicated. If your one of those students that can get away with not paying attention, get with the program. You can’t possibly keep that up for long in sixth grade. Trust me, I thought I could. Huge mistake!

These fractions can be hard at first, but you get used to them. You have to work with many problems, such as multiplying them, adding them, subtracting them, dividing them, finding their reciprocal, improper fractions, mixed numbers and more!
