Charels River Dam!
One day my family and I went into Boston to go see a friend. When we were driving we went over the Charles River Dam. I asked my mom if she could tell me about it but she said ”No.” because she didn’t know about it. After the day was over I went online and found all this great information on it.
Charles river dam is also known as ”The Gridley Dam”. It is located in Boston, MA down the stream of the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill. Many people come and look at the dam’s natural beauty.
The dam was built in 1912 to prevent sea water from going into the fresh water in the Charles River during the high tides. The dam is also there because it replaces the Charles River Dam Bridge.
If the dam was ever to burst because it’s cement it would get a quick repair from the government. If know one was to fix the dam then it could cause terrible problems. It could flood the city, people would lose their homes, money everything they have!!! So it’s very important for the workers to fix the dam as soon as they can.
