Citation Expectations
A citation is defined as a standard procedure and/or passage of words that honor an original author.
Citations normally follow a “standard” procedure of format. In order to simplify the procedure for my students, I follow the international “MLA” standard that the students will most likely use when they get to university/college.
Each instance that you use use a fact or passage from another author, you MUST reference/cite that work according to the MLA style/standards that we use in class.
In order to simplify creating this citation, my students use a special web based tool.
The Citation Machine is a tool originally written by David Warlick and part of the grant funded non profit Landmark Project.
This tool allows students to first designate what type of media they are referencing. Referencing a book is different to referencing a website. The following bulleted list is an exhibit of all the different forms information comes in each with it’s own unique method of referencing.

Students, please note the following. If you use a fact, and don’t cite where your fact comes from, it will be removed.

The Citation Machine is great because it is easy to use but gives a great citation. I used the Citation Machine on my current project im working on. When I cite where i got my information it doesnt feel like stealing there work.
The Citation Machine helps people address a book, or even a website. Say you where planning on making a bibliography. Then the Citation Machine could help you to make it.
The citation machine helps you reference books or websites. I you were doing a project this would really help you because it tells your teacher that it was not your work and it tells them were you got your information.
I am glad I learned how to use the Citation Machine becase it is really fun and I enjoy doing it.Mr. Pearse is very smart of this idea and I love doing it.
The citation machine is great to learn when you’re still a kid. It’s better to learn this when your a kid because you can remember this when you actually need a bibliography when you’re in college.

I think that the citation machine is a graet way to help get your work done and to help you get your work praganized on an asinment given to you by prety much anyone including your teacher.
